Capsule Description

Duck is just that--an ordinary duck. But one day, she gains the ability to transform into Princess Tutu to gather the shattered pieces of prince Mytho's heart and fight against the monster raven who broke it.

This is a downright adorable show...and it stays that way, even though it starts to get dark towards the end. The characters are almost all likeable (except for a few minor ones) and the story is beautiful.

  • I had never heard so many males excited about ballet before. It's really cute to hear all the guys (just the guys mind you) gasp and squeal, "PRINCESS TUTU!" when I put the disc in. Of course, the girls are just as excited. I'm very happy we decided to show this wonderful show.

  • Pure delight! The visual almost surreal visual style takes me back to the days of Revolutionary Girl Utena. The main character is sterotypically not the brightest bulb, but not to the point of being annoying. This magical girl anime has an excelent symbolic battles which fits the ballet theme of the show perfectly. On top of this, plot twists abound to keep you wanting more!
