Dr. Andrew Morris is an Associate Professor in the [History Department] of [California Polytechnic State University]. He teaches all aspects of East Asian History, but specializes in the early 20th centery of China and Taiwan, and is especially interested in the sports and physical activities of that time period. Fluent in Chinese, one of his favorite methods of research is newspaper archives. He has writen many published works including books, the details of which can be found at his web sit [1].

East Asian studies also go hand in hand with anime. Many stories, such as Rurouni Kenshin, are set in a historical period. Knowing more about these periods makes the anime all the more interesting.
In one history class, he was talking about how Samurai Warriors turned the religion Zen Buddhism into rutuals for battles. He then made the offhand remark how unfortunate that was. I asked him "How can you say that as a history proffessor? Aren't you supposed to be impartial?"
His reply: "I don't pretend to be unbiased. I am human, and humans are biased by nature."
The truth of these words struck me, and I'll not forget them.
I highly reccommend taking any and all classes you can with him. Heck, you've gotta take a history credit sometime, right?
